Desserts with DG

Each fall, Delta Gamma hosts an eagerly anticipated philanthropy event, Dessert with DG. For this annual fundraiser, each member prepares delicious desserts. We then invite the entire Lubbock community to join us by purchasing a ticket to receive a full plate of these delectable desserts. All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to benefit Service for Sight. This year, our event was especially rewarding, as we raised an impressive $12,147.33 ! This significant contribution reflects our community's generosity and commitment to supporting those with visual impairments.

Anchor Games

Over the past couple of years, we have transitioned from Anchor Splash to the thrilling Anchor Games, and this year’s events were nothing short of spectacular! We hosted Anchor Dunk and Anchor Slam, where teams got to coach and cheer on their favorite basketball and softball players. In previous years, we enjoyed intense volleyball matches and exciting flag football games.

One of the highlights of our fundraising efforts is Penny Wars, a fun and competitive fundraising event where teams compete to collect the most change. Each team has its own bucket, and team members, along with their friends, contribute coins throughout the day. The goal is to gather as much change as possible. At the end of the day, the amounts are totaled, and the team with the highest total wins. The winning team receives points that contribute to their overall score in the larger Anchor Games competition. This event not only fosters team spirit and camaraderie but also supports a good cause through fundraising.

This year's Anchor Games not only fostered team spirit  but also made a significant impact by raising an impressive $5,913 for Delta Gamma’s philanthropy, Service for Sight. This achievement underscores our community's dedication to supporting a worthy cause while enjoying some friendly competition!
